Organizers have announced that the Queensland Music Awards will head to the Gold Coast in 2026, marking the first time the event will be held there. The ceremony is set for Miami Marketta and will coincide with the awards’ 20th edition, giving the long-running program a new setting as it celebrates music from across the state.
The move signals a broader effort to shine a light on Queensland’s music community beyond Brisbane. For two decades, the awards have recognized artists, songwriters, and industry figures across a wide mix of genres, helping spotlight both established names and emerging talent.
Bringing the event to the Gold Coast puts that focus in a different part of the state while keeping the same mission intact. The awards remain centered on honoring Queensland-made music and the people behind it.
With the milestone edition now tied to a new location, the 2026 event is expected to blend celebration with a wider view of the state’s creative identity and the communities that continue to shape its sound.
