Moviegoers will get a chance to see Michael before its full theatrical rollout. Lionsgate announced that the Michael Jackson biopic will hold early access screenings on April 22, giving audiences a limited opportunity to watch the film two days before its nationwide debut.
The studio said those advance showings will be available in premium large-format theaters, including IMAX and Dolby Cinema. A limited number of showtimes are expected, with general release set for April 24.
The film stars Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson in his first major screen role. The cast also includes Nia Long, Colman Domingo, Laura Harrier and Miles Teller. Antoine Fuqua directed the project, which has drawn attention for its focus on Jackson’s life and career.
The early screenings add another push to what has already become one of the more closely watched music-related releases on the 2026 movie calendar. For fans, the advance dates offer an earlier look at a film centered on one of pop music’s most recognizable figures.
